Vietnam’s two largest cities rank among the world’s most expensive for office rentals in an annual real estate report. Ho Ci Minh City ranks 19th and Hanoi 21st of 100 cities worldwide, suggesting an investment opportunity in light of Vietnam’s torrid pace of growth in recent years.
In the survey, London prices are $139 per square meter per month, followed by Tokyo and Hong Kong. Office rental in HCM City and Hanoi is much less — about $38 — but well above the averages for New York, Frankfurt, Shanghai, Brussels and Rome. That’s because office space remains in short supply in Vietnam despite a recent surge in new construction that added nearly 100,000 square meters in the largest cities.
