Jacko’s Dad Invests in Vietnam Theme Park

Joe Jackson, father of late pop icon Michael Jackson, is investing in Vietnam’s planned $2 billion hotel-entertainment complex south of Ho Chi Minh City called “Happyland”, perhaps Southeast Asia’s largest current tourism project.

Vietnam’s Khang Thong Group, the lead investor, envisions a complex similar to Disneyland — a 1,000-room five-star hotel, a water park, theaters, a riverfront boardwalk, and restaurants.  The national government supports the project that aims to attract 14 million visitors a year including three million foreigners.

Groundbreaking was this week.
