The Vietnamese government’s news agency says Vietnam needs to take aim at seven areas that are particularly vulnerable to corruption — and responsible for the country’s reputation that undercuts its ability to meet its potential to be a bigger player in the global economy.
The target areas are:
- land use
- mineral resource management
- personnel recruitment/appointment
- capital construction
- addressing complaints about corruption
- equitization of State-owned enterprises
Businesses and investors need to keep an eye on Vietnam’s progress toward changing its culture of corruption because it is holding the country back.
