Vietnam Focusing on Corruption Targets

The Vietnamese government’s news agency says Vietnam needs to take aim at seven areas that are particularly vulnerable to corruption — and responsible for the country’s reputation that undercuts its ability to meet its potential to be a bigger player in the global economy.

The target areas are:

  • land use
  • taxation
  • mineral resource management
  • personnel recruitment/appointment
  • capital construction
  • addressing complaints about corruption
  • equitization of State-owned enterprises

Businesses and investors need to keep an eye on Vietnam’s progress toward changing its culture of corruption because it is holding the country back.
