Vietnam Breaks Ground on Biggest Shrimp Plant

Vietnam has broken ground for the construction of one of the world’s largest shrimp producing plants — one capable of processing 20,000 tons of shrimp a year in the Mekong Delta.  Minh Phu Factory is expected to employ 10,000 local workers and make $180 million a year.

The processing plant is expected to develop facilities that use local farm and aqua material — the major orientation in the region’s economic development.  The company will become Vietnam’s biggest shrimp producer and processor in years to come. Such development style is necessary in boosting the country’s major export product line.
