Vietnam health authorities are increasingly concerned about potential for the rapid spread of the A/H1N1 flu this winter.
The flu is now spreading at a much greater pace than over the past several weeks, with many of the country’s A/H1N1 positive patients relatives of overseas Vietnamese patients who had returned from the US.
Health experts have warned that when the A/H1N1 flu spreads widely into the community, an increasing number of patients and even fatalities is unavoidable.
The Health Ministry yesterday confirmed 35 new A/H1N1 flu cases, bringing the nation’s total to 443. Overall, 139,556 cases and 781 fatalities have been reported in 139 countries worldwide.
