Vietnam Plans to Streamline Customs by 2011

Vietnam Customs is working on its master plan to create a National Single Window on Customs. The current myriad form, systems, and information make customs complicated and delay the processing of imports and exports in Vietnam.

The single window will reduce costs and administrative burdens for the trade community and the government by allowing parties involved in trade and transport to lodge and exchange standardized information and documents with a single entry. The single window will facilitate trade and further integrate Viet Nam’s trading community into ASEAN.

The single window will be effect in Viet Nam by 2011.
